Mason jars are a such a huge trend right now, for centerpieces, candles, and even drinking glasses. However, spending $500 or scouring flea markets for months might not be in the cards, so JarStore.com is the perfect site for you!

They have mason jars, apothecary jars, vases and much more for great prices. I mean, 16-ounce mayo and mason jars for $1 or less? Fantastic!

One of the greatest ways to thousands of dollars on your wedding is to purchase a gown that isn't a "wedding gown," per se.

As soon as something is labeled "wedding" it becomes much more expensive, and there are a ton of beautiful gowns from top designers' non-wedding collections that can easily be worn at your wedding. Great designers to look for include ABS, BCBG, Nicole Miller, and Vera Wang.

Below are four examples beautiful examples, and all for under $500!

You should know, I adore JCrew. I wore it in high school, but then for a few years, their clothes started looking a little ... mom-ish. But then -- magic! -- their new creative director totally recreated the brand and the new designs are all so gorgeous. The point is, they are having a fabulous sale right now.

Hurry over to the website and you can outfit your ENTIRE wedding right there in the sale section. I'm in love ...

For a pretty beach wedding ... a lovely eyelet gown with a tuliped hem.

Gorgeous silk rosette wedges. Bonus: You won't sink in the sand or grass!

Your 'maids will look beautiful in this bright, simple cut.

This would make an amazing dress for the Mother of the Bride.
I'd pair it with a colorful shoe.

Finally, wear this sexy polka dot bikini on your honeymoon! Perfect.

~ Revisit your guest list. If you’re planning a bigger affair, an easy way to save is to pare down the guest list. Removing just 10 guests can save $100 a head many times, or $1,000. You don’t need to invite people to your wedding simply because you were invited to theirs, for instance.

~ Have the reception and ceremony at the same location. Plus, you can also transport the florals from the ceremony to the reception site and reuse them.

~ Get a wedding dress that’s not a “wedding dress.” As soon as you label something “wedding,” it becomes exponentially more expensive. Look for dresses from designers such as BCBG, Nicole Miller, Vera Wang, or ABS, in their non-wedding lines (this is especially doable if you’re game for something less traditional, such as a color other than white). You will often find gorgeous gowns with beautiful detailing, lace, etc. that are less than $500 simply because they aren’t technically considered “wedding.”

~ Focus on the memorable details. Will your guests remember your monogrammed napkins? If your invitation had a tri-fold and inner envelope? Probably not. But they will remember if you included special details, such as having a photo booth (a very popular thing to splurge on right now) or a great live band that kept them dancing all night.

~ Try a vintage tabletop. I have seen a rise in couples who spent the months leading up to their wedding scouring thrift stores and eBay for vintage/antique tableware, glasses, linens, and more. If you don’t want to rent place setting and linens, this is a great way to save. Place settings can cost as little as $1 and many couples will resell the whole set after the wedding. It’s not for everyone, but the “perfectly mismatched” look is very in right now.

♥ Times are tough and couples are looking for ways to trim their wedding budgets, without sacrificing personal style or paring down their guest lists.

Here are five great money-saving trends!

~ Use non-floral elements. A big trend for saving money on flowers (and perfect for cold-weather weddings) is using non-floral elements like feathers, fruit, pods, pepper berries, pomegranates, lace, and stones in bouquets, centerpieces, and at the altar. Ivy is another great option, as it symbolizes the 3 tenets of marriage: friendship, fidelity, and matrimony. Eucalyptus is also an excellent choice in arrangements and bouquets. It is hardy, aromatic, and symbolizes good luck.

~ DIY! Do-it-yourself wedding projects are really on the rise in these tough times. Brides are arranging their own flowers, making their own bouquets, crafting their own placecards, using handmade ring pillows, and cooking edible favors. A cool trend we've seen is brides taking classes to learn to letterpress their own invitations, saving hundreds of dollars.

~ Serve a custom cocktail. Have beer and wine, but also have a personal drink. Maybe it's a special drink to you as a couple. Did you have mojitos on your first date? Does your family have a tradition of drinking a special cocktail that signifies your heritage and culture? One couple gave away a party favor the included the recipe for their personalized drink, as well as the special glass to drink it in. If you serve beer, wine, and one custom cocktail, instead of open bar, you can save as much as 50 percent on your bar cost.

~ Ask friends and family to pitch in. It is becoming popular to enlist the help of friends and family with baking, cooking, and sewing. Ask a few people who can bake to make cupcakes or cakes - you'll save money and have a variety of treats. Or, enlist a friend who can sew to make your ring pillow or personalize table linens, for instance. I've also seen recent wedding where the groom and his buddies pitched in to build the wedding arch or make placecard holders. This will help make your wedding really personal, as well.

~ Choose the right day. If want to save money, Friday and Sunday mornings are the best days to get married to save money. Saturdays are more popular, will book up the fastest, and will cost you the most. Also, consider a Sunday brunch. People eat and drink much less during the day than at night and this can save you money on the bar tab and catering. ♥
